Ringo

Ringo was the pioneering café in this increasingly hip area, the Reuterkiez. The somehow worn-out expression Less is More rules here...and it does it well.

Folks here are international. Many of them go to lessons in the nearby language school and stop by and sit at the kidney-shaped tables from the 1950s. The café goes for the minimalist look: empty brown walls, a few lamps, and a portrait of Ringo Starr, who keeps an eye on the place.

Try the russian Zupfkuchen, a cake baked by an artist that lives in the area. If her works of art are anywhere as good as her cakes, she'll definitely be famous one day. Organic breakfast is served until 3pm, and at night Ringo turns into a bar where smoking is allowed.
