Read a book, bring your computer and surf the Internet or just enjoy a really delicious cake from the Koriat bakery, which is on the same street. Like everywhere else in Berlin, here you can have a late breakfast until 3pm. There's a variety of sandwiches, croissants, scrambled eggs, yogurt and muesli. They also have different soups. Check out the offers.
The interior is a little bit old-fashioned; girls will like the fresh flowers on the tables. Young as well as old people come here, people on their own, or with friends or partners. There are also seats outside.
In the evenings Rita is more like a bar, and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8pm it becomes a "pay-what-you-want" Weinerei. That means that you pay €2 for your first glass of wine, and if you feel like it, you can drink more, and at the end of the night you pay what you think it's worth. After 6pm you're also allowed to smoke in the bar.
You can keep the night going on Weserstraße, which offers tons and tons of hip bars. For example, Ä with free live music every Wednesday; there's also the Fuchs und Elster basement club, a bit hard to find; and gay Silverfuture and Russian wannabe Kuschlowski.
